So I've been caught up with finishing all of the side quests, and getting all of the tiny extras in the awesome game Brutal Legend. Brutal Legend is fucking amazing, and after getting a few more things, I may replay the campagin mode...only on Brutal difficulty.
Want to know more, check out my blog sometime, I'll tell you what is metal, and what is...*shudders* alternative rock.
Anyway, I wanted to dedicate this post to a growing genre of games I officially call the commander genre. Have you ever played a game that had RTS gameplay elements in it, but also let's you sort of mix it up via action or shooter elements in it?
Brutal Legend is, what I consider a commander game, but here's another you may have missed.
Sacrafice: Think Earthworm Jim meets Magic: the gathering, and you got the perfect example of a commander type game. Sacrifice was not only hailed for it's gameplay, but also it's bizarro artwork, and voice acting. There's a demo through file planet, I highly recommend you download it.

Personally I would love to see more attempts at the commander genre (Heck, I heard the upcoming Warmachine video game will be a commander style game), but here's to hoping someone will be able to manage console controls...Brutal Legend, and Sacrifice needed a little work in that department.
